What I love about gut health is that no matter what anyone tells you, eating real non-processed food is at the heart of it.
Pioneering is hard though - my first gut book was published in 2015 and I felt a bit lonely talking about this topic. But now gut health is everywhere (even on the ads on the side of London buses) which is great!
I have tonnes of experience working as a nutritional therapist 1-2-1, in groups, on retreats and follow the science with enthusiasm and have a good measure of what works.
I keep my microbiome healthy by cooking (and eating for the fibre!), helping friends in their gardens (to get the soil microbes on my skin), and embracing dogs (for my immune system and happiness).
When you work with me, or follow my weekly publication The Gut Makeover, you get an expert nutritionist.
And also, an independent journalist (formerly of The Times, and The Observer), who asks lots of questions, doesn't take information at face value and advocates on your behalf for what is healthiest for the individual you are.
Media Coverage
Listen to Dr Rangan Chatterjee and me discussing time-restricted eating for IBS, diverticulitis, and ulcerative colitis, and the issues facing patients prescribed the low-fodmap diet.
It was great chatting to Eddie Nestor of BBC Radio London's Drivetime. We talked about whether full fat or low fat foods are better for us? (I’m on the full fat side of the debate by the way).
I loved chatting with Mara Schiavocampo on Good Morning America - with a table heaving with Gut Makeover goodies from kefir and Roquefort to bananas and potatoes - yes, they are all good for your gut!
